On the first day of 2010, while other people were relaxing at home enjoying their new year’s holiday, we were out shooting Malaysia’s most anticipated and talked about wedding of the year. It is the wedding of Malaysian actress, Serina Redzuawan and Gavin O’Luanaigh a.k.a Salahuddin Ghaffar.

To any non-Malaysians reading this, Serina is the daughter of Chef Wan, one of the most celebrated chefs in the world. You can also read more about Chef Wan here.

Both of us were very honored to be a part of the beautiful celebration and we would like to thank the happy couple, Serina & Gavin and their family for giving us the opportunity to be one of the many photographers to capture the celebration (seriously, the number of photographers and media there was insane!).

The wedding, which was a three days celebration (we only covered two days), was glorious and beautiful with a tasteful fusion of Malay tradition and modern decoration. The decoration, the atmosphere, the beautiful dresses and costumes needs to be seen in real life to be fully appreciated. It was a challenge for us to capture the whole feel and experience of the wedding, but we did the best that we can and we hope you will enjoy the images of the wedding below.

she is probably the most classiest model on the runaway, ever. one of her shoes broke and she just slipped off the other gracefully and rocked the stage barefoot.

and a surprise performance between the break by one of malaysia’s own diva, anita sarawak. she literally made the whole of pavilion to stand up and danced with her.

And thank you to the vocalist Kash for trusting me with a backstage pass to photograph these rockstars, as humans. To those who aren’t aware of their existence, here’s an excerpt off their website about who they are;

It all started in the middle of 2002 . The journey begins with collaboration of 6 individual from Groundless Victim, Missing Rites, Foreground Division and Killed By Accident. Since many of the band mention has already call it’s quit, the 6 infinite wisdom continues their desire and intentions to produce quality music which is a mixture of rock and roll,metal and hardcore/punk. The band consist of six different individual from different place. Cassandra was the name given which reflects their passion, emotion, commitment and desire one hundred percent. Each individual in this band comes from a different background and with different personalities but with one vision and intention they manage to work together to succeed and be in the hardcore community. Each person is a musician on their own. Although there are hardship and difficulties in their path, Cassandra manage to overcome it with the most honest, sincere, respect, comfort and friendship.
